I Travel Multiple Times a Month, and This Is the Summer Airport Outfit Formula I Swear By
It really is effortless.
After kicking off 2026 with multiple international trips, I’m now in the midst of a quieter travel period. I bought my first house in a brand-new city, so I’m trying to find a balance between grounding myself here in Roanoke and taking advantage of the exploration opportunities that come along with being a travel writer. I simultaneously want to be home this summer, but I also want to see Botswana, Namibia, and the Maldives…
At the moment, though, most of my non-writing or editing time is spent unpacking. One room is still full of suitcases and boxes, packed to the brim with clothes. I’m slowing making my way through the mess, prioritizing the pieces I know I’ll take on upcoming trips. Right now, that’s a week on the North Carolina coast, a couple of fishing trips out West, and a relaxing getaway to the South Carolina Lowcountry. While each destination will require different pieces, my tried-and-true summer travel uniform stays the same: some version of a matching set.
I prefer loose linen or drawstring pants this time of year paired with a T-shirt, tank top, or button-down in the same hue. It’s simple, chic (in my opinion), and cuts down on decision fatigue. Below, I’m sharing a few pieces I will be adding—or, at least, wish I were adding—to my rotation.
Sponsored: I love a solid tank top, as evidenced below, but I also hate wearing a bra—so my summer travel suitcase nearly always contains my Cakes. I’ve been using the Circles, which I purchased myself, for at least two years (I think?) now, and I can definitively say they’re the solution to comfortably elevating any casual top while on vacation.
